On the day that it was announced that Oracle are to purchase Sun Microsystems there were two other announcements that might have more impact closer to home in the short term.
Microsoft continue to push Internet Explorer 8 and it's now being rolled out by windows automatic update. However I'm still advising people to wait for at least a mont (preferably two) for bugs to be ironed out.
Internet Explorer 8 has been released and Microsoft are pushing it hard. If you visit the Microsoft web site you’ll find a good number of attempts to get you to upgrade; but should you upgrade now or not?
