New Eircom Phishing Attack PDF Print E-mail

My colleagures over at ESET have warned of a new phishing e-mail that is targeting Irish computer users.Do not send your username and password to anyone! This is the e-mail that appears to come from from an "Eircom" address:

Dear Eircom Webmail Account User,

This message is from webmail messaging center to all webmail account owners.

We are currently upgrading our data base and e-mail account center. We are

deleting all unused webmail account to create more space for new accounts.

We are currently performing maintenance for our Digital Webmail Customers.

We intend upgrading our Digital Webmail Security Server for better online

services.

USERNAME:

PASSWORD:

DATE OF BIRTH:

Confirm Your WebMail Details.

User Name:

Password:

Date of Birth:

Warning!!! Any account owner that refuses to update his or her account

within Three days of this update notification will loose his or her account

permanently.

Eircom has immediately provided a statement telling users NOT to send their usernames and passwords to anyone:

IMPORTANT NOTICE!

eircom will NEVER send an unsolicited e-mail asking for your password or any of your account details. If you receive an e-mail asking for any of your account details, please DO NOT ENTER ANY DETAILS and delete it immediately!
