Conficker.C Coming 1st April PDF Print E-mail

A new variant of the Conficker worm, named Conficker.C, is set to become active on the 1st April according to CA. This evolution of the worm has been stripped of a lot of it's replication tools; but these have been replaced by stronger capabilities for disabling anti-virus products and restricting access to websites related to virus removal as well as disabling Windows Security Centre and Windows Defender.

In addition to disabling security features on your PC the Conficker.C workm comes with a long list of web domains it will try to contact when it launches. From these domains it can download a variety of other malware packages to be executed.

There's no doubt that Conficker.C is a very nasty piece of work indeed so it's vital that you ensure your anti-virus software is fully up to date, failure to do so leaves you wide open to infection. To keep your systems secure call us today on 023 88 39496 to get the best virus protection around.
